Who we are

WE ARE THE HIDDEN GEMS

We’re here to Halp!

With over 30 years of experience in the video game industry, The Halp Network (THN), a Black- and female-owned creative services and production company, is shaping the future of entertainment through inclusive storytelling, cultural consulting, and world-class production. Led by industry veterans William “Chip” Beaman and Julia Bianco Schoeffling, THN champions a future where entertainment reflects the diverse world we live in.

The team is the core of our operations, essential to providing the white-glove service Chip and Julia are known for. Mentoring, training, and hiring a team that has the same commitment to equity and inclusion that they do ensures every project takes a thoughtful, representative approach.

Committed to Improving and Advancing an Industry

Since its inception, the Halp Network has been committed to advancing the industry by creating spaces to exchange knowledge and uplift underrepresented voices. In 2018 Chip and Julia established and have continued to co-chair the Dialogue & Performance Track at GameSoundCon, the largest industry event for game audio professionals. They curate a series of panels and talks focused primarily on game dialogue, motion capture, and performance capture. By bringing together diverse voices from various backgrounds, they aim to stimulate creative thinking and inspire attendees to push the boundaries of what is possible in game audio.
THN is known for bringing together industry professionals from across the spectrum for consistent, quality content, safe and enjoyable experiences, and a guarantee to meet some great people.

A Certified Minority Business

We’re thrilled that The Halp Network is a certified minority business enterprise officially recognized by the Southern California Minority Suppliers Development Council. Beyond our own internal structure, The Halp Network strives to connect clients with diverse creatives and pave new opportunities for a successful future that includes everyone.
Productions should be safe spaces for all creatives, especially those from underrepresented communities. To achieve this, productions may need additional support. By recruiting and mentoring underrepresented creatives and connecting them with paying opportunities, we create a pipeline for change. Equity and inclusivity connect us to the shared human experience and allow endless creative opportunities and explorations.

Partnering to Create Change

THN demonstrates how diversity in leadership can drive meaningful change. Partnerships with organizations like Motion Picture Sound Editors and QueerVox along with leadership roles with BAFTA North America, Kollab Youth and the Game Audio Network Guild (GANG) further amplify THN’s impact across the entertainment industry. We work tirelessly to connect with and contribute to the non-profits providing wonderful resources, programming, and opportunities for our industry and beyond.
